I never knew you were cockney. I guess it's true... you do learn something new ever day. :p

Oh gawd.....It must be true that it's all downhill at 50.
I don't even know where I was going with that thought. Probably something about standing in the corner hoping no one notices what either of my teams are gonna be like this year......or maybe just drinking from my sippy cup.......who knows?:facepalm_smiley:

I don't get my news from Mashable nor do I cite them as a news source.

(I'm sorry fljoe0. I didn't mean for this to happen. *sigh*)
Hey Sigs, believe it or not, he was being punny! Other teams like to call Dolphins "The Fish" as in, let's squish the fish! Not that your story was false.=D

Deflating, isn't it? ;;D :D

(I can't believe I just wrote that. :smile:)

Not really. ;-D It still does p*ss me off when those jokes continue but it just fit so well there, I couldn't resist. Maybe it's also like the times when it's okay for someone who is more closely associated to make a joke or put somebody/something down but not an outsider. :smile2:

Don't feel bad. Nobody gives the Jets a second thought.

Starting QB will be a journeyman 37-year-old Josh McCown, on his 10th franchise and a castoff of the Cleveland Browns... the BROWNS. Bryce Petty, a second-round pick who had a poor showing late last season. And Christian Hackenberg, a completely untried option who seemingly can't hit any of his receivers.

They also cut Darrelle Revis, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Nick Mangold, David Harris and Nick Folk.

It’s going to be a very rough year. If they make 6-10 this season it will be a miracle.

And we have Satan's legion... the New England Patriots in our division. The football gods are cruel.

Seattle's situation would be dream come true for NYJ this year.

LMAO..."Satan's Legion"...lol I like that Dio...

Somewhere over the rainbow
I'm afraid my Patriots are angering the gods.
Until a few days ago I liked New England's odds
Of a thrilling season and another Super Bowl.
With this team that seemed to be a reasonable goal.

But, it doesn't do to get too cocky early on.
Sports gods disapprove of it and, when that mojo's gone;
Footballs do not spiral through the air the way they should,
Stars get injured, passes dropped, more field goals fall "No good."

When they registered a trade-mark for 19 and 0
They insured that's not the way our season's gonna go.
Brady's risked the Madden curse, already... What is next?
Let's not push our luck too far... We'll make the sports gods vexed.

Somewhere over the rainbow
40 years ago today the Brady's had a son.
At the time I'm sure they didn't know he was the one
Whom the sports gods favored over any other child...
On the day that Tom was born they all looked down and smiled.

Tom's a gift the sports gods gave to all New England fans;
One that keeps on giving since, apparently, he plans
To go win another ring. (He'll need a second hand...
Victory parade route is already being planned.)

On this anniversary of that auspicious day,
On behalf of sports fans everywhere, I'd like to say;
Thank you to the sports gods and to Brady's dad and mom.
Thank you to his teams and coaches... Happy Birthday Tom!
