Way to go, Peyton Manning! 510 TDs so far in his career. He might not have the consecutive game streak that Favre achieved, but he has Favre's TD record. It took Favre 302 regular season games to reach that mark, but Manning reached it in only 246 games. Peyton Manning can easily achieve 600 TDs in his career.

I know folks talk about his postseason failures and stuff, but he's still got a ring and enough stats to fill the pages of The Stand. There are many players in the history of the NFL who were and are Canton-worthy that never even made it to a Super Bowl, much less won one. I remember when everyone was going on about if Peyton Manning would ever win the big one. Now they are still going on about it as if the 2006 championship never happened. Go figure.

But it's really hard to believe that he's as good as he is after missing an entire season. Good for him.

Oh, just saw the college football rankings. Four SEC teams in the top five, all of them from the SEC West. Georgia is ranked 9th while LSU is ranked 24th. Texas A&M isn't in the top 25 anymore.

1. Mississippi State
2. Florida State
3. Ole Miss
4. Alabama
5. Auburn

Whoo-hoo!! :D

Loved the game of keep-away after the TD, too.

Short week coming up. San Diego next, Thursday night!

It was pretty darn exciting.

My Broncos-cheering, I figured, had reached a zenith in the two Super Bowl victories in the late '90s. I said then that after Elway retired, we had witnessed the best years that the Broncos would have. The thrilling finishes and all.

But I'm kinda eating those words, depending on how the Broncos do in the postseason. Elway was close to a one-man team, but there were things about him when he wasn't on the field that weren't completely admirable. Peyton Manning is not that way. I have yet to find any indication that he's not a classy, smart, well-meaning guy, consumed with him and his team attaining proficiency. As such, it's easy to root for his success, and he presents such a great example to other guys in the game (like Russell Wilson, the Seahawks quarterback, who just seems to fit into the classic description of "nice young man").

Really thrilled for Peyton - and yeah, that little keepaway game there at the end was charming. It looked as though it were among guys who genuinely like and respect each other.
