Firstly, sorry if this has been covered before; the search didn't come up with anything so hopefully I'm good to go ;)

I was just interested to know who else likes the NFL, favourite teams and such. I'm in the UK, and me and the mister are all in favour of a UK franchise :) He got me into it not long after we got together - nearly five years now - and I've enjoyed it from the outset, even though I'm still learning how the game works :rugby: The mister is a Patriots fan, and I support the Saints - not having the best season, but I'm keeping the faith. Black & gold to the Superbowl! :positive:

So, who's your team?
Paranoid Paintbrush, just letting you know that I have merged your thread with the "Football Cave" in Chattery Teeth. :)

Welcome to the discussion, Paranoid Paintbrush.

It would seem I chose the Chiefs-Raiders game last night rather poorly. The Raiders were my pick to go 0-16 this year. Can't believe the Chiefs goofed on that one. Not that I really had a dog in that race anyway.

Thank you :) And sorry to hear that; it was a shocker! Especially with the Chiefs having a strong season. I am glad for the Raiders that they broke the streak though; it was an uplifting end to the game.

I don't like football, but I have to comment on what the Bills tried to do.
They were offering fans $10 an hour to clear the snow out of their stadium. Unbelievable!

Really?? I can understand it, but am still kinda shocked by that! Although I guess there would be some fans who'd jump at the chance; could be a memorable experience?! ;)

I heard that the other day. But now NY Gov. Cuomo got the NFL to reschedule the game out of Buffalo. The game against the Jets will be Monday night at 7pm and will be played in Detroit. I don't know if my cable company will carry that game on Monday but it was going to for Sunday. I haven't heard if those Buffalo fans who got free tickets will now have to travel to Detroit to use them.

Welcome. I don't know how a UK franchise team would work. Between all the travel time and customs troubles with equipment I don’t see how it would work for the US teams playing away and playing games every week. Unless they somehow have away games coinciding with bye weeks for the US teams, and have the UK team play 8 straight games in the US... would be the only way I think it might work.

How about one of you switching alliances over to my NY Jets. They can’t seem to get many fans over hear so maybe the UK might be their last hope. :)

I'm glad to hear from you. I have been curious whether there were any folks in the UK that liked our football or not.

I live in South Florida and I'm a Miami Dolphins fan.

Thank you :) I may have misinterpreted the UK franchise then; I was thinking it would be more based on creating UK teams, or bringing together any existing ones, while keeping the international games [more about those below :)]. If it's in terms of US teams coming over each week, then I can definitely see the issues! And LOL, I do like the Jets; they're not having much luck so I can't help but root for them ;)

Definitely! There is a fan base over here for certain; if you want tickets to the international games, I think you pretty much have to be ready to buy them as they go on sale, because they sell out *fast* :O The Raiders seem to be popular over here, and among my friends there are fans of the Bears, the Bengals, the Packers and the Dolphins, among others :)
