Jets beat the Titans on Sunday and took themselves out of the Marcus Mariota sweepstakes. If the entire Jets organization regresses any more they’ll be wearing single bars on their helmets. :(

The Jets and Dolphins play the final week in the "disappointment bowl."

I'm hearing rumblings that Joe Philbin is going to get fired. I really hate going through this every 2 or 3 years. I got spoiled when they had the same owner and coach for 25 years. The Dolphins really miss that stability. The front office is a dysfunctional mess too. I like Joe Philbin and would prefer that they keep him especially if they are going to run out and get another guy that has never been a head coach before. There is a big learning curve to that head coaching job and these guys that have never been a head coach before should get a little leeway with those first couple of years.

Wasn't his fault that guy (#14?) dropped that easy TD pass that would have kept them right in the game.

Jets GM John Idzik is searching for another coach to replace Rex Ryan. But Idzik will most probably be gone after this year also. Owner Woody Johnson needs to concentrate on his other business and think about selling the team... not putting some Band-Aid on Gang Gonzo, because the fan’s are tired of taking Tylenol all the time.

I never rule out that cold day in hell. :)
Here's to hoping I'm not put to a test between my stubbornness and political principles. ;) As a Red Sox Nation supporter, though, I feel your pain and hope the Jets can get a better fit for the team for their fans' sake. Just not good enough to beat the Patriots, though! ;;D

Thanks, but being a Jets fan for some 47 years now, history is not on my side. :(

It’s funny though. No matter where I travel in the country, I've found Jets fans are the same everywhere; pessimistic, accustomed and expecting failure, and no hope... EVER!

Don't give up! It took the Red Sox 86 years--based on that you've only got 39 to go. Hmmm...maybe not such a great motivational pep talk with that analogy.

I think the odds are better for Ms Mod voting Republican before we see Belichick as the Jets head coach. ;)

If the Jets can’t draft QB Jameis Winston out of Florida State, then Tom Brady would be a nice addition. :)

Maybe if Cheech and Ching were running the Patriots because someone would have to be really high to trade Brady.

6 straight years of winning their Division for the Pats,
12 of 14 years when they got new tee-shirts and hats,
Seasons of accomplishing what others only tried;
Belichick and Brady fill New Englanders with pride.

Think about the streak of wins the 2 of them are on;
Even now, with stars from older winning seasons gone,
Belichick and Brady keep on adding to their wins...
Like the one from Sunday's game against Miami's 'phins.

Next week, in New Jersey, when they're taking on the Jets
(Where Division rivalry's as nasty as it gets)
Belichick should focus on them getting out alive.
Keep Tom Brady playing for us 'til he's 45.

In honor of MrsSmeej:

John Fox gets panned for his coaching style
Some fans can't see the reason or rhyme
But when we shake our heads, we do so with a smile
He's coached four years and won division title each time.
:clap:

Sorry that someone as nice as you appear to be
Caught the dreaded Seussilitis rhyming bug from me.
I'm afraid that there's no cure but don't abandon hope...
I've found a nice Cabernet can help you learn to cope.

Naw, he's too busy smiling, being cheerful and doing happy stuff :rofl: Viva la Grump, LoL! [My spirit animal is the Grumpy Cat.]

This thread is making me wish I knew more about college football; we don't really see it over here, so far's I know. I was thinking the Bears would beat us this week, but the Saints pulled it out of the bag; so much for my predictions! o_O Once again, my pessimism is rewarded....hmmm. :heheh: I've really enjoyed the "shockers" this year - kudos to the Rams, the Cardinals and the Chiefs for strong seasons, and especially to the Raiders for beating the 49ers! [I can't help but root for an underdog....and I am not what you would call a fan of the 49ers. :tounge:]

MrsSmeej - your Patriots poems are brilliant. Utterly awesome. The husband-to-be is a long-time Patriots fan, so we both look forward to them; I've read them out to him since I joined this thread :) If you haven't already, you should so send them to the Pats' press office/website or such. I bet they'd love them, as would fans everywhere! Thank you for sharing; they definitely brighten the day ;)
