Cool, Liverpool was a major port back then. The water front is mostly a tourist attraction now, it is still used for shipping, just not as much.
I would think a lot of war brides started their journey to North America there, sailing on the Queen Mary after WWII :biglove:

I've got a ceramic Christmas tree similar to the one to the left, Ma made it, way back when. Looks like someone or something has been peeking through the blinds! Heh!
We got those replaced since then with Hunter Douglas wooden blinds (lah de dah) - they are still hard to dust anyway!
