My parents were the same after 50 years together - my Dad was lost without my Mom.

Well he did have Alzheimer's so he did not die right away but just basically wasted away unfortunately.

I just realized you were letting me know George HW Bush has Parkinson's (not your father).

I was actually telling HillLover35 that my father had Alzheimer's and was with my Mom for 50 years.

My stepdad lasted about two months after my Mom passed.

That is hoping that he recovers. However, the heart sometimes is so lost without the loved one..no motivation.
