OK, I'm going to get up on my soapbox!

Social media is why they could not handle this quietly. Social media is why they thought this might be a funny/bada$$ thing to do. Social media is dumbing down the world, one tweet/vine/instragram at a time.

This was stupid. In the old days, a respected member of the school would have stopped it within a very short time and punished the fraternity, then moved on. I am only 43 years old and I miss the good old days!

Off soapbox... continue on.
Yep. And it gives instant attention/gratification/vindication for retarded acts like this.

I bet Sigma Nu sees a drop in pledges and some of its members deactivate after this stunt.

Who needs public executions? We have public executions on a daily, more likely, on a minute basis. Hit the iCondemn app on your phone now.

We are going to run out of people to punish soon. There has to be some distinction between folks who do stupid things and need to be held accountable from idiotic kids acting like jerks. The endless news cycle makes a mountain out of a mole hill about some very silly things.

True enough, and that's all this was; a silly thing.

The attitude exists whether it's advertised or not and I actually think this stunt might serve a useful purpose for parents of adult children who might somehow still be living in a bubble somewhere.

More than the new and improved cottage industry of Being Offended By Everything, I think this speaks more to the idea that kids are taking a lot longer to grow up in this fine new age.

And once again, I'm sure my grandfather probably had much the same thought about me and mine.
