What's your beef with Chuckie, if you don't mind me asking?

He in support of mandatory Christian prayer in our public school system, and only mandatory Christian prayer, in schools. He is also part of an organization that is active in pursuing this goal.

I view religion in schools as an all or nothing thing. That means even Satanists should be allowed to pray in school and we should let Muslim children bow down in the hallways at their time of worship like they do in countries in the middle east.

He is very ignorant of how polarizing religion is, and I feel that all indoctrination, political, religious or otherwise, should be kept out of public schools. schools should be a place for learning, and safe for that learning process, not a place for constant fighting and fear.

He's too far right on other issues as well, I'll give you that, but he's also an accomplished martial artist, a successful actor (not necessarily a good one) and he himself loves those Chuck Norris jokes. I'm not a fan of his by any means, but I'd like to give credit where credit is due.

Wow, I had no idea Chuck was a part of this movement. As a public school teacher, I am thankful for separation of church and state. It never ceases to amaze me how religiocentric people want to force everyone to believe the same way they do. What up with that?

Thank for explaining this.

My children have been fortunate to attend schools where many religious beliefs and traditions are taught. (None are taught as the "true" religion, though sometimes a teacher will speak directly about traditions within their own family.) The schools have attempted to include all beliefs held by families within the school. There have never been Satanist or Wiccan beliefs taught, but no families have ever professed to follow either. I understand the attempts by the schools was to help all the children feel included, also teaching others about why this child doesn't eat that food, or wears this clothing helps to prevent bullying. knowledge is power.

My mom always was clipping little sayings out of the newspaper or a magazine. I have dozens of them. And, she also wrote down funny things my youngest used to say. She called them "insert my son's name" "isms." So, Jeff-isms, or Stan-isms or Jason-isms. But with my kid's name. She has tons of these little Isms written down. While cleaning the garage and going through boxes, here is one of my son's isms...

My Son: I love the smell of napalm.
My Mom: You don't know what napalm smells like.
My Son: I've done some things I'm not proud of.

He just turned 9!!!!! :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
