My son read "The Eyes of the Dragon" and liked it quite a bit. He's got "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" on his Nook reader, but he hasn't gotten to it yet. He's currently obsessed by some series called "Vampirates"...He's read 5 out of the 6 books so far. I'm just thrilled he likes to read, although he usually reads lying on his back, cross ways on his bed with his feet all the way up on the wall, which looks, murderously uncomfortable to me....strange kid....I have to let him get a bit older before tackling some of Mr. King's other books....

Yep, my three oldest read him. I think my oldest started with IT when he was about 13, DD#1 started with Salem's Lot when she was about the same age, and DD#2 started with Eyes of the Dragon when she was 11 or so. LilMan is just 8, so he's almost to Eyes age--give him a year or two. I love seeing which books they choose as favorites: oldest currently picks Under the Dome (which I found difficult--then again, he likes alien stories & I yawn at them :p), #1 wavers between Salem's Lot and Dolores Claiborne, and #3 is stuck on Eyes (though IT comes a close second!).

Mr. King and his thoughts and opinions are tossed about here like he was a favorite uncle--lol. "Stephen King said…" is a common phrase :) and his opinion bears weight: if not for his rec, "The Hunger Games" (amongst other books) might not have gotten a read, and that would be a loss (even if the last book was a clinker).

We are hardcore nerds--HAHAHAHA!

Well... Have no children to spread the habit to. My two best friends are childless as well (just writing this makes me wonder if i'm going around spreading some kind of airborn infertility disease without knowing it. I gotta put a break on my imagination somehow!!). They both like the dark tower put hasn't really got in to the rest of his authorship. My friends girlfriend has her birthday nex month. She is a nut for Zombies, loves The Walking dead show and so on. I have given her World war Z and The Passage previously and am planning to give her Cell this year. Might be an entrance into Kings world for her. I am doing my best to spread the gospel.
