Have you read all the books, do1you9love? Do you know something I don't. Well I know nothing but you know what I mean.....:D:biggrin-new::D
No, I have read 1-4 and stopped because I was caught up to the season. I didn't start reading them until end of season 4 and I was glad that I hadn't read them earlier because things in the books happen out of sequence from what was in the show. I am probably going to read 5 this summer, then whenever 6 is finally published, I will see. I have really enjoyed not having the angst that folks who have read the books seem to be felling around every turn.

As for my comment in spoilers that you quoted...
Don't know anything except he is not "good". While I may feel sorry for what he's become, I can't forgive him for all his past sins. I'm a harda$$, don'tcha know!:D

Interesting to hear that perspective as I've wondered what those who watched the series and then read the books were thinking about experiencing it that way. I've been holding off on watching the series because I wanted to get the story from the books first but from what I've heard I could watch at least the first 3 now as they follow along fairly closely.

Yes, I think watching though 3 would be safe. You definitely get a better understanding of characters and situations from the book, and having them fresh in your mind while watching would make some things in the show make a bit more sense.

What do you make of book six anyway? One day you hear it's done the next day it's not. I like the fact the books are so different from the show. Makes it refreshing. I'm going to keep on reading and waiting for #6. With 4 and 5 still to go, 6 can take its time getting here...LOL

As for Theon:
I know what you mean. He has some major atonement(s) to make doesn't he? :D

Finished the book last night Out of Order. The ending has me confused, though.
Is Catelyn really still alive?!
I think she is, but as one of the ice walker people thingies. I can't really remember if she appears in book 5 or not, though. I really should reread!

There is a new book in October, kind of a prequel, that is all about the Targaryen family, when they ruled. Called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Might tide us over til book 6!

I had my suspicions that Benjen Stark is one of those--the one that came to Sam and Gilly on the elk--but if he was Bran should have recognized him. :umm: I'm hoping I might find out more when I get into book 4.

Was Benjen the uncle from the Wall? I thought so, too, if he is. I think he was quite a bit older than Bran, maybe why he did not recognize him?

Yes, he's Ned's brother. He tried to talk Jon out of joining the Night's Watch. Now that I think of it, though, they didn't really go into much detail when Bran first saw him and never returned to them before the book ended so still possible.

Only for people who apparently have no self-control and have to read what's in Spoilers. ;;D:D Seriously, though, if any of this isn't covered in the TV series, let me know and I'll stop talking about details from the books.

DON'T READ THE SPOILERS!!!;-D;-D Only stuff that hasn't necessarily been on tv yet, anyway. You have seen all those! But, Ms. Mod hasn't. The Bran storyline, all the stuff that happens with him is probably my least favorite storyline.

I know. Me, too. I spoiled something for myself with book 5, reading a spoiler here. I have no self control, either. I don't go to threads at all now, until I have read or watched first. ;-D

Out of Order I just realized my response about only spoiling things that haven't been on tv yet sounds mean. I didn't mean that it was somehow less to be spoiling things you hadn't read yet! Just that the Bran story had been covered some, so you probably knew most of it from the show, anyway. No Bran this last season, though, think we will see a lot of him next season, maybe so they don't have to go too far astray of the books? Waiting on Martin to finish the next book. That is my theory, anyway.
