That's right! Tooey's, isn't it??
I had a friend visit someone "down under". He said they didn't serve Fosters, but Toohey's (sorry for the misspelling) had several flavors. So I would say it's more like Slitchz to Sam Adams in the US. LOLYour on the right track, although Tooheys is different to Fosters. I guess like what Coors or Miller is to budweiser.

....Schlitz began in 1858 in this country...I would call it a "blue collar" beer, lots of working folk would drink it...put it in the same ballpark as Pabst Blue Ribbon and such...Don't worry about the spelling, i knew straight away what you meant. I may never come to understand why Fosters is not served here, as it is certainlly not the worst tasting beer produced in this country. Somewhere along the line it became primarily an export beer, to be identified with our country. Ive heard of Sam Adams, but Slitchz is a new one to me. Hope you friend enjoyed his time here.
Welcome!
Very nice first post. Glad you're here!
...it's fun where you're sloshed....Thanks. I was not sure what to include, what to leave out, if I included too much information or not enough.
BTW thanks Giant for the little lesson on Schlitz. I think i would have trouble with pronunciation ordering that one.
