thanks Uncle Stevie! just finished Mr. Mercedes... coincidentally, I just spent 3 separate days standing in lines at Bangor Best Buy to get a simple phone replacement by the Geek Squad: hmmm, creepy mommy-loving psycho-killer loner? "Discount Electronix"? Volkswagen Beetles for the store's "Cyber Patrol"? Best revenge possible. They made me come back 3 times, wait over 30 minutes each time, with their kooky black and white uniforms and VW's, disappearing for 5 or 10 minutes at a time behind the curtain, served up with purest condescension... watching Stephen King skewer Best Buy royally?priceless.

I've had okay experiences with them. I've learned that the workers at the counter have basic knowledge of computer repair whereas the techs behind the curtain are more knowledgeable.

And I agree, the wait time can be painful.
