What did she do? The only thing I saw was she just wanted to see him, before he was totally lost in his disease. I'm not so sure that's something bad.

How many people have you watched deteriorate with that disease. For so many it is really upsetting. After years and years she wanted to see him FOR HERSELF. When the family said no, she tried to get the reporters and the public on her side. To put him and his family through even more.

I watched so closely as people I loved lost a bit of themselves Day by day. I would have protected them from that too.

She was a part of his life that would likely bring him pain IF she managed to remind him of anything. And if she didn't, she would have upset him because he could not remember her. It really is upsetting for many people when someone keeps reminding them of what they have forgotten. It was for HER, at his and his families expense. Even the reporters seemed to quickly realize and stopped giving her the publicity.

Bring it down a notch. I was just asking.

And yes, I have had someone very close to me suffer from this disease. It is devastating and it is, at a certain point, the people showing up in their lives that are very distressing to them. They are confused and frightened and look at them as strangers (even their closest family.) It sends them into hours of upset and fidgeting. I know these things.

If Glen was my husband and some woman who was part of his past -- a very self destructive and disturbing past -- wanted to make contact, I would definitely say no.

What I saw was Tanya wanting to see him for herself, to say goodbye and the family said no. She did tell the press, probably to garner support which she did not get. And then I saw she dropped it. I didn't see that she drug it out and prolonged it. She asked, she was turned down, she tried to get the court of public opinion on her side, it didn't work. She let it go.

I can understand why she might have wanted to see him. Maybe she wanted to tell him she was sorry. Would it have meant anything to Glen. Nope. It would have been for her own peace of mind. I don't see anything wrong with her asking. But again, if it was my loved one, I would've said no also.

All I said was that I lost respect for her over what she did. You asked why. I answered.

I saw her make more than one attempt. And as far as I'm concerned, once the family said no she should have just let him be. Even going to the press once was cruel.
