I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, say sorry. Thoughts and prayers to every person fighting the fires and everyone in the path of them. Just wanted to use the smoke comparison as an indication to how bad the fires are up in Canada, for us to be getting smoke down here!

I didn't think you were at all, CAT.

Oh, they are awful. Lasted for days, and I finally figured out that the Visine was the only thing new in my routine. I wanted to just take my brain out of my head before it exploded. Terrible headaches.

I won't derail this thread anymore with this, but I did see MIGRAINES mentioned quite a few times.......

And I'll add my wishes for the firefighters and citizens too!

Did you use them more often than prescribed?
I was just using the over the counter kind and usually just in the mornings. My eyes are always dry with the thyroid problems (enough so that I cannot wear contacts anymore) and my eye dr said any over the counter drop would be ok for me to use. It didn't take long for the headaches to start.

I use one called Soothe, by Bausch and Lomb now. Have for a couple years, with no side effects.

Dry eyes can be helped by taking Omega 3s.

Thank you! I will look into that. Does it help enough that I could get back to wearing contacts? I miss my contacts. Hate my glasses.
My eye doctor is the one who told me about it because i was having the same issue. My eyes are so dry, I couldn't get the contact to stick on my eyeball. I would have to moisturize it first.

Not sure it works, just got this information here in the near past, but I am hoping over time it will help.

Wow, thank you so much. I will definitely look into it.

I'm the one who derailed the thread! But I need to thank you, too, because if we hadn't been talking about my eyes, I wouldn't have found out about the Omega 3s from DJ! So thank you!

Have an update on my dad. Left kidney contains the cancer that has metastasized. Invaded a vein which is how the growth made it to his neck. Has to go back for two more scans to see if bone or brain is affected. Treatment will depend on what that shows and what his heart can handle. Long term outlook is maybe 2 years if we are lucky. Heart is very heavy today.
