Ollie the stray cat we took in is not well. His kidneys are bad. Becky told him to the emergency hospital and they are keeping him in tonight....she is crying her heart out. It is gonna cost 1800 for them to build him up somewhat and do a bunch of tests. Pray that he will be okay for a few more years....we do not want to lose him. I KNOW the past three years has been the best he has ever had. Please God, let us have him for awhile longer.

A few years ago I had a colonoscopy which they said showed no problems. I had a particularly stressful day Friday and I wonder if that, coupled with my use of ibuprofen lately and the Kung Pao sauce yesterday, might've inflamed my stomach lining enough to set it off. But if that's what happened then my stomach lining might tend toward a compromised state. I've got a doc appt. soon, I'll talk to him about it.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. The saying goes: one is not safe until it dissipates. It appears Erika is no longer a concern to the National Hurricane Center. It is over Cuba and supposed to head through the Fl keys and into the Gulf and travel off the west coast of Fl. Supposed to is the key word. It looks, as of now, to be a rain maker only.
I think Fljoe should be in the clear, I'll be getting a lot of rain. I feel for the ones just a few miles to my south who are still sitting in flood waters from our recent rains.

Please keep the prayers going throughout Hurricane Season (it ends the last day of Nov.), as we now watch a new system coming off the African coast.

May I extend the prayers to those in Hawaii as a Cat 4 ( 140 mph winds) head their way.

It's funny how just a few miles can make such a big difference. We have not had much rain this summer and could really use some and you have communities close to you in flood waters. So let's hope those that don't need the rain don't get any more. One thing that I've noticed over the years is that we seem to get more rain from the weaker systems than the stronger ones. We have had some massive rains from hurricanes that fell apart and became depressions.
