Thank you for taking the time to render some of your much appreciated expertise. When any one of us are having a medical issue; I know we can depend on your cool observation and gentle advice....sounds like it's past time for some cauterization.....that is usually acceptable and minimally invasive.....good luck darlin'...
(((BH)))Requesting your prayers and kind thoughts for BH who has had a nose bleed for the last three days. After 5 visits to ERs, finally we have an appointment with an ENT. With hope he has the equipment and expertise to stop this seemingly endless flow.
Aww, thanks love.... (((Haunted)))Back at ya', ((((Mz. Flake)))). With all that you have on your plate; your hugs mean a great deal.
Seriously, I hope he is okay - has he had a blood test done recently? i.e. how is his hemoglobin? If he is losing lots of blood he could become anemicActually 'tis, Beloved Husband.
All those folks! St. Anthony too!Thank you for asking, Mz. Holly. He is still bleeding frequently and pretty heavily. They packed the nostril with the sore but the blood just reroutes and pours out the other side. We have a followup appointment tomorrow early. I'm not sure what they can do for him, I don't think they can remove the nasty packing because that will just reopen the wound....boyoboy. We just keep praying. I best keep knocking on Jude's and Luke's doors, eh? Maybe Theresa of Calcutta too!
Blood work done Thursday evening. RBC, HEMOGLOBIN AND HEMATOCRIT all low. I will be talking with the PA tomorrow re: getting him to his primary for referral for a transfusion if necessary.Seriously, I hope he is okay - has he had a blood test done recently? i.e. how is his hemoglobin? He was on Coumadin for many years until he developed internal bleeding about 18 months ago. Switched to 81mg daily of aspirin which is erroneously referred to as 'baby' aspirin. Stopped that immediately when nose bleed started.Aww, thanks love.... (((Haunted)))
I've just read your update, that must be so exhausting for him. I hope something will work soon... do they have him on iron supplements? It sounds like he might be low after so much bleeding. (I may have missed this earlier... is he on blood thinners?)
...how is his blood pressure?....He was on Coumadin for many years until he developed internal bleeding about 18 months ago. Switched to 81mg daily of aspirin which is erroneously referred to as 'baby' aspirin. Stopped that immediately when nose bleed started.
Running normal for him; he has taken Midodren to raise his pressure since issues of 18 months ago. Good point! Thanks for asking....how is his blood pressure?....
I was taking 81 mg low dose enteric coated Aspirin too. Since I stopped taking it I'm now able to go back to Canadian Blood Services to donate my O positive blood. He was on Coumadin for many years until he developed internal bleeding about 18 months ago. ....did they do an anterior or posterior packing....or both?......Running normal for him; he has taken Midodren to raise his pressure since issues of 18 months ago. Good point! Thanks for asking.
They never said. They inserted about a 2 inch slender tube of cotton and attached to it is an apparatus that is used to pump air into it. It rests high up into his nostril and extends beyond nostril edge. Have to go he is dripping again. Thanks for your concern.....did they do an anterior or posterior packing....or both?......
...that's an anterior....perhaps they will do a posterior procedure after he sees his primary physician...get him some iron supplements and some Vitamin K....it will help with the bleeding...I wish you both good luck...They never said.
