I'm not what you'd call Holy at the best of times but my Dad, who turned me on to Mr. King in the first place and who is another Constant Reader, is currently laid up in a hospital bed in Holland and in a bad way due to his suffering from COPD.
All good vibes from fellow Constant Readers would be gratefully appreciated.

Been a rough 24 hours or so. First of all, my sister rang to say Dad wouldn't make it through the night and then I got to ring him to say goodbye this morning, which was tough.
Anyway, he made a slight improvement during the day and is still hanging in there.

Dad made the decision to have his oxygen supply turned off at lunchtime today. He was sedated and went off to sleep. He passed away peacefully about an hour ago.
As terrible as death is, I'm so glad that he has no more suffering and that it came swiftly and painlessly for him at the end.
