Sorry to veer off topic but where are you in terms of danger zones? I know New Zealand has had a horrible time in recent years with earthquakes, are you any fault zones?
We have several major faults running right the length of the country, it really is only a matter of time until we get something really catastrophic. (New Zealand is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire.)

But life is so short, yar? We have to ignore the fact and live like it will never happen. (All the while being as careful as we can with building construction.. etc)
You're right-no place is completely safe anymore. Living in fear only robs a person of the ability to experience joy in the "now"...
It's taken/taking me a reeeeeeeally long time to learn this... and put it into practice. (not talking earthquakes here, but you'd probably guess that anyway.)
I'm trying to learn the lesson, too. Not sure I'll ever be very good at it.

That's funny-especially because my paternal grandfather once said to me, "Never get old." He lived for at least twenty more years! I don't think he realized the alternative to his statement...
It's just that it's taken me so long to even consider living one day at a time, not worrying myself sick about the future, that I find I'm now enjoying life yet relatively old.
I've lived along the Gulf Coast my whole life yet I still hate and fear hurricanes every time one shows up....
Sadie and I are leaving in a few minutes for her weekly vet appointment. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated! I pray for improved test results this week...
