Kids, day before yesterday I burnt hell out of my left leg on my motorcycle's exhaust pipe. I wasn't riding it or sitting on it but had gone over to restart it after it had choked out. I'd been running it to charge the battery and to clean out the carbs and the engine with good gas. After work tonight I intend to send a pic of the burn (it looks kinda awful. I really hate hurting myself. I'm funny that way) to my doc and ask him to call rxs to my pharmacy. Thanx in advance for your thoughts, prayers and vibes.

Oh, Sir Blunt, that sounds like a really nasty burn. I've read that egg whites can help heal. Please, please take care.

Thankee, Sais for the thoughts, prayers, and vibes. I texted a pic to my doc this morning. He says it looks bad, that it's a third-degree burn, and he ordered a special cream concoction which will be shipped to me so I have it in a couple of days. Meanwhile, I'm applying Bactroban, which is a good local antibiotic cream on it ands which I happen to have on hand and a big bandaid (those come in handy). It was kind of a freak accident, perhaps something that some people getting used to a motorcycle are at risk for; maybe, especially those easily distracted and/or are freaks.

I guess that's why most bikers wear leather.:icon_eek:

I pray that the doctor's cream will help you heal PDQ!

I wasn't riding. I've recently had the bike essentially rebuilt. Until I get a new helmet, I can't ride it legally, not to mention safely, so for now it remains parked. But I have to at least every other day start it running in order to charge the battery, and it's good for the engine. (My excuse for not having bought a new helmet yet is that I've been working graveyard shifts, which tend to reduce me to worthlessness at home; and, that I'm a little apprehensive of riding a motorcycle again.)

At home I wear only shorts. The bike had been running and choked itself out. So I went to restart it and should've done it from the other side of the bike because it was a little awkward from the side I was at, enough that I got too close. I had charcoal getting hot on the grill and thought what can be cooking, the coals aren't even hot yet?

It's not painful even when I'm wearing my scrubs, unless I brush against something, then it screams. Hopefully, I'll receive the cream the doc ordered for me soon.

Thanx everybody for caring. I'll keep you posted.

Thank so much spidey and all. Things are moving too fast but then again not fast enough in the case of getting help for our mom. She's still at home but needs to be somewhere with nursing care. We're all done in but keep muddling through fhe days. Something has to be done soon. I have hip surgery in 2 weeks. Hip bone is dieing and needs to be done asap. Half the ball is gone and I'm losing bone everyday. With me out of commission there won't not enough family to care for mom. please keep praying for mom. Thanks, pets and tower.
