While this was not really a horror movie I enjoyed it alot.. John Carpenter was a genius when it came to creating suspense..

Believe it or not, I have never seen either of those films. i think John Wyndham wrote - village of the damned. Would netflix have it or is it too old. Do I have to pay a visit to amazon.
He wrote The Midwick Cockoos which it is based on. I don't think he had anything to do with the movie. But a remember that one. John Carpenter directed and he was often reliable.

I think it was based on one of his books - the Midwich Cuckoos maybe? (Where a fog descends on a village and all the women of childbearing age become pregnant). Then the children are all born with golden eyes and the power to control their caregivers?

It was a long time ago that we read it in high school.

My favourite of his is "The Chrysalids" - I wish we had those telekinetic powers as it would make lack of communication a lot more rare.
It would be fun but perhaps not so fun when people wan't to kill you for it. The depiction of the society and The True Image and the right way to handle Abominations and the rest of it are brilliant.
