I've been writing for five years on and off in-between working crappy jobs, and I have this manuscript that I keep coming back to. I have yet to publish a single word of anything, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take a look at it. I don't expect anyone to read the whole damn thing. but I'll post it if you want to read it. And please tell me if it does in fact suck if you do read it, I've been writing in a vacuum for way too long.
The story is a crime novel set in a steampunk style province. The story takes the perspective of both the detective and the murder. The detective is a young man living down on the docks in the capital city, he is out of money and out of work. In a desperate move for cash the detective contacts one of his shady childhood friends looking for a loan. The detective gets the coin, and a lead on a job where in he might be able to pay the loan back. Six corrupt business men were murdered on a tram, and anyone who's touched the case so far has ether gone missing, or has been driven insane.
Meanwhile the murderer is tacking down a demonic cult that has taken over the governing of the province. He is more machine than man, and throughout the novel you learn more about his strange back story, and the origins of the cult he is after.
The cult is made up of a collection of cannibals, who gain power by taking injections of alchemical substances. Once the substance is taken in, the only way to maintain their power is to feed off of human flesh and organs, but they're immortal as long as they continue to do so.

I'm sorry, but we don't allow original work to be posted on the site on the advice of Stephen's attorneys so I had to delete your attachment. If anyone would like to give you feedback, they can contact you privately through the Conversations option.

Hi Steven_in_the_north. Interesting. I liked it. If you write, then remember to protect your work before sharing. Also, start submitting. If you get many rejections it might mean that you get some good constructive criticism along the way. Or maybe you'll get a bite! Who knows? Keep swinging, mal.
