Language is something for which I have a natural affinity. I like the rules. They make me comfortable. But then, I also like breaking them, frequently and with great relish. And although I used to be a bit of a pedant—some things still make me cringe—on the whole, I've tried to adopt this philosophy. Because after all, the rules of language are what we make them. They weren't handed down like the Ten Commandments.

Not strictly grammar but I loved this story:

BBC News - E-mail error ends up on road sign

In a nutshell officials at Swansea council emailed their translation department for the Welsh translation of a road sign reading "No entry for heavy goods vehicles. Residential site only",

They got a response in Welsh which they thought was the reply was what they needed., but actually said in Welsh: "I am not in the office at the moment. Send any work to be translated" and this is what they got made up onto the finished sign.
