I would like to take just a moment and say that im very thankful for this site. the members on here our amazing. I have been on many forums. I have a few hobbys such as model trains, guns, sport cards. also collect a few other specific items that I wont bore you with. my point is even on a model train forum like O gauge. you think something like that would be pretty lite. but even there , their are a%$^#@s. I mean people get pretty ignorant as soon as your opinion differs from theirs. also a lot of instigating. here is exact opposite. for instant on the forum classics you didn't like. someone might put a book up there that they trashed. that book might be someone elses favorite. instead of taking it personal and lashing out they respect the other persons view. you guys should be proud of this forum and it starts with the moderators and the culture they create. then that filters down to the members. Your all special and above the cut. for sure.

That was a really nice thing to say, chief4db... thank you! Like DJ said, this place is what it is because of the folks here and yes, trying to keep it one of the better places online is definitely one of our focuses.

What can i say? I don't have the Chiefs wide experience of sites but i totally agree. This is rather special in its tone. And that is thanks to our mods and our host and the participants here that are bright enough to follow a good example which, amazingly, seems to be practically everyone. To all of you.......:clap::clap:

The Stephen King Message Board isn't a discussion forum so much as an online community, a digital village, so to speak. It has its own distinctive culture, customs, and its own colloquialisms and slang. The longer you're here, the more you'll see that this site is somehow different. Comradery is built upon a shared foundation of a love for Stephen King's work, and online relationships flower with increased interaction through a myriad of discussion topics.

Well spoken, the_last_gunslinger . Old timer here, and will say the SKMB is the best on line MB. A family- one that cares about each other- the perfect example of Ka-Tet (one made up of many). Thankee kindly to the mods for their guidance and protection, and SK for more than just another MB.

Years ago, I was on a message board for moms of toddlers. The way some of those women acted was worse than dealing with terrible-twos tantrums.
I've only been on SKMB for a few weeks but I already feel like this is a much friendlier (and respectful) group of people.
Thanks!!!!!!

It's all Steve's fault!!!!!! (if you've been around here long enough you know that it's always Steve's fault, no matter what ;-D) I don't frequent any other forums on the web, this is it for me. This place helps maintain my sanity. I have no gauge to go by other than what others say here about other forums, and it makes me totally appreciate the 'family' that we have cultivated here. Like all families, we may have spats at times, but we always come together in the end and that's what makes this place special. It starts with the Mods and trickles down from there. They've set the tone here and if you can't stay in step then they WILL let you know. I've said it before- this is Steve's backyard and he's been gracious enough to foot the bill and let us come and play here and I try to respect that with my posts. I hope the SKMB will be around for a long, long time.

I agree with Chief. Very nice group. No ass***** here, just an occasional chocolate starfish drifts in with the tide now and then and the moderaters and members are even nice to them, giving them a chance to behave. You guys are the best.

Me too! I've tried to do a couple other boards, books or crafts or an author -- none are this friendly. The people aren't that friendly. Some boards are just Escape From New York type things. Anything goes. Anyone says anything. Treat others really bad. Or just totally ignore new people. I have enough sh*t in my life, I am not going to purposely hang out on the web in a hateful place.

This is the only board I'm active on.
