Just hoping it does not change predicted path like IRMA did... We are still lacking power at my condo here in Ft. Myers.
This could cause cancellation of trip to Brooklyn and Boston Events.
MARIA make that turn away from Florida quick and spare the Islands in your path the grief!

In 2004 we got hit with two hurricanes in 3 weeks. We got dead centered too, the eye went through here both times. In the first storm we lost power for 2 weeks got it back for a few days and then got nailed again and lost power for another 10 days or so. I can't tell you how awful that was getting power back for a few days and then losing it again so soon.

That was a year indeed. Places close by lost power for over a week. It seemed like every other weekend we got hit.

We had 47" of rain in the month of September that year. My area can handle a lot of rain and that 47" was about the limit so I can't imagine what it was like in parts of Texas where they had that much rain in a few days.

2017 is as bad as 04-05 and we're not done yet.

To put this in perspective, the last Category 5 hurricane to hit PR directly was in 1928. Since then, the island has had several close calls but nothing like Maria. As they say on the West Side of the Windy City, "It's gonna be a corker."
I'm well aware of who Maria is, because that's my wife's name. And is she going to get a ribbing after this is over.
