I have the MOST awesome costume ever thought up. I have no doubt I would win contests if I actually went somewhere to be judged. I only dressed up occasionally as my kids were growing up, but I recently acquired something that sparked my inappropriate sense of humor. It almost makes me wish I was invited to a Halloween party. Some people will be completely offended. I am so excited about this, I am actually making this costume for one photo. All by myself.

I will post a picture on Halloween.

I enjoy Halloween. We decorate outside. I pass out candy. Hubby and son,go Trick-or-treating. Then the son usally wants to come home after an hour or so. Not much on candy. So he takes most of the chocolate out, then gives the rest of his candy to our last few trick-or-treaters. So they make a haul.

You will love it.:smooch:

Of anyone on this board, you will get my inappropriate humor.
My guess is that it has bling. Am I right?

I l-o-v-e Halloween. I love the trick-or-treaters, I love looking at how creative some kids can be with their costumes, I love the season, I love the lore associated with the holiday, I love carving pumpkins, I love chilly nights, I love the hilarious Looney Toons that involve Witch Hazel and Halloween, I love the creepiness (when appropriate - some stuff is just too scary, and we've already got a lot of scary going on in the world right now), I love dressing up if I have an opportunity to do so, and....I love the Brach's autumn mix that gets sold in stores right around Halloween!

No, the reveal is worth waiting for. Or will be very anti-climatic depending on if you agree with me or not.

I feel the exact same way. And there's just something about Brach's Autumn Mix that captures perfectly the mood of October.

I also hate halloween. I didn't when I was a kid. Loved it. But it turned into dread for some reason.
Was it by any chance the realization that people are encouraging kids to ask strangers for sweets? I mean talk about playing into their hands....there is a hard line, controversial comedian in the UK called Frankie Boyle, he hit the nail on the head when he said "halloween, the perfect time of year for the agoraphobic paedophile".

Or was it the realization that it's not really innocent little kids, it is mostly hard faced young teenagers demanding a treat with the threat of a punishment if one is not given?

Maybe it is still all about little kids playing dress up, getting candy and having fun in America, but over here it's half assed, and an excuse for young adults to have a piss up - pardon my language if you're religious (IT quote :) )

I think it was the teenager part. I just happened to live in a neighborhood with a lot of teenagers who egged houses and broke pumpkins and all those ornery things. It just lost its charm.
