My guess is that it has bling. Am I right?

I l-o-v-e Halloween. I love the trick-or-treaters, I love looking at how creative some kids can be with their costumes, I love the season, I love the lore associated with the holiday, I love carving pumpkins, I love chilly nights, I love the hilarious Looney Toons that involve Witch Hazel and Halloween, I love the creepiness (when appropriate - some stuff is just too scary, and we've already got a lot of scary going on in the world right now), I love dressing up if I have an opportunity to do so, and....I love the Brach's autumn mix that gets sold in stores right around Halloween!
...which means they put it on the shelf by July 4th...

Halloween is bloody brilliant (sometimes literally). Last Halloween (or thereabouts) I got some friends together and we watched Bram Stoker's Dracula and Halloween H20 : 20 Years Later. Many jump scares in that last one, but since I had seen it before I knew when they were coming and I could watch in amusement as my friends leapt out of their seats :D

Gatlin goul grope - Copy.jpg My daughter makes goulfriends at every haunted house we visit but this was a dummy else there would be less teeth in its grin. The most odd thing I've had happen was having my shoulder bitten at the one in Virginia beach by my daughter in law. Hurt too. Strange reaction to fright. Graystone Manor in Killen Alabama was the best I've been to but I think he sold out. Great animatronics, varied themes, great owner- talked to him half an hour before I found out he owned the place. The hardest area for me was the huge black butt-cheek tunnel which tested my claustrophobia to all getout. It was one of those fan blown inflatable things that was impossible to suffocate in but that's not what my mind kept telling me.

Thankyou Neesy. There is a guy I work with who keeps asking me if she is still happily married. Yes Eric, and I'm not even going to strangle you for asking. Your drawing reminds me of the old EC comics Haunt of fear and Tales from the Crypt.
Here is my wife being strangled by the same ghoul.

Scott Cummins has some really cool pumpkins- Pumpkingutter - Pumpkin Carving Gallery similar to Ray Villafane- Villafane Studios :: Home who everybody knows. They are sculptors really.

Every forum I've visited has had a scary story thread around Halloween. I'm going to be really disappointed if this one doesn't. I see the hodgepodge story thing but what I like is the real stories people tell. They may not be well crafted but unless something is told often it rarely is. Those make my skin crawl and I've just a few myself to share if it's allowed.

Aside from the annual Halloween Story, (Already written, just waiting to be posted) we do not allow the posting of fictional stories here on the MB. This is for legal reasons as Stephen has in the past been (wrongly) accused of plagiarism and it's a waste of his time to go through the legal processes. It's just easier to say no thanks, not here.
You can however, link to your writing in the Self Promotion area.

What a shame. What if it's not fictional? Those are the most interesting anyway.

Sure. If it's what I've seen previous then each person adds a segment and it winds up a Frankenstein. That's cool but it doesn't beat actual experiences. I understand the legal aspect but it's just a shame I have to go back to Something Awful or Straight Dope to get it. I'm sure there are lots of good ones here. It doesn't have to be paranormal. There are lots of scary things perfectly real.
