Happy 30th anniversary, Dragon Quest

Just wanted to share today's event with people here.

I really love Dragon Quest, so this is somewhat special for me.

Are there any other gamers in here? Any who like RPGs? Or Dragon Quest in particular?

Whenever I have some free time but still take too long to read SK's books*, it is because of these games.

* See? I can make it so anything I post here is related to Mr. King or his work.

Hi Cesar, I never played Dragon Quest but, in the past when I did play, I would always like the 'quest' games. Legend of Zelda and Paper Mario were 2 of my faves. All the best, mal.

I'm an old school D&D-er, so I rather think that all RPGs descend from that. My daughter rolls her eyes at me and tells me "It's not the same thing!" LOL! All in good fun!

I also like The Legend of Zelda, although I have only played the older ones (NES, SNES, GBC). I bought the remakes for the ones from N64, now on the 3DS, but I have not played them yet.

The main series DQ games are turn-based, so quick reflexes are not required, which is good for people who are not constant gamers.

And nope, not all RPGs are even similar to DnD (I really liked playing DnD when I was younger), but Dragon Quest and the first Final Fantasy games have magic, medieval themes, knights... The first Final Fantasy even has monsters taken directly from DnD (like the mindflayers or Tiamat).

So you are allowed to think of DQ and DnD as being related.

My parents stopped me for playing Legend of Zelda because i'm so addicted to it so i switched in Mariokart lol. But in the end, they cannot stopped my addiction in video games

Am i the only one who thinks FF VII is so overrated? Folks?

But since it is the first one many people played (thanks to its advertising campaign), they think all the things it did well were invented by that game, not knowing that most of them, if not all, had already been used in previous Final Fantasy games (or other series). Even the death of a team member was not anything new, but tell them that...

Also because of the fans that loves Yaoi was attached to this vidya game *oops, triggered lol*

I do not like VII not because it was overrated but because Cloud was a-hole. So i think i'm not the only one who isn't hyped when FFVII will released its remastered (i don't if its remastered or remake)

I like the underrated FF XII better than FF VII
