Wow, thanks, you guys!
After almost 28 years of teaching, I am happy to say I still
love it. Every day is different and new...there are so many children out there in need of more than just a science lesson or math skills. They need a smile, a hug, an adult (and their teachers may be the only adults) to listen, really listen, to them when they speak. I feel I've done my job when a kid says, "Mrs. D, I like coming to your class because it's fun and you're so laid back. You're not constantly mad at us and yelling."
They may forget the science I teach them, but I hope they never forget I loved them.
♥♥♥ you guys!
That is precious. I think teaching is a calling - you have to be drawn to it and love what you do, to do it well. You seem to have that down, Danie. Thank you to all of you who sacrifice so much of yourselves for our kids.

Our PTA does a great job with this. They have something planned each day. Today was the flower thing and we gave D's teacher (male who has just moved into a new house with his wife) a hostas from our yard.

Thanks to Ms. Cox, Mrs. Babb, Mrs. Guthrie, Ms. Wallace, Mr. C.
