I'm all for eqaulity on all levels, Pay, Possibility to stay home when your child is sick, education, Promotions, And before a court!! The questions that can come up in some cases where it is relevant how a women dresses but not a man? And of course at home. I am afraid i'm not good at these tasks, i suck at cooking, i suck at cleaning and washing up.. Sigh. But i'll say that i did a serious effort to do good when my wife was alive. Followed instructions you might say. She was good at these things and showed me what to do. Except cooking, never let me in that sphere so i'm still an imbecill there. We admitted to eachother that we were good and bad at different things at were willing to learn. A trifle of note subjectwise but anyway... A happy day for all women out there!!!

If you want to really get in the spirit of the equality, you'll make your wife a sandwich, too.

Yes!

Make her what she does like, then. And sweep the floor, do the laundry, wash the dishes and scrub the toilet. Every day. For a year. Then you'll start to get a real appreciation.
;)

Yes!

Well if the truth be known........

I don't sweep I vacuum the floors, I do all the laundry and most of the folding of same(she doesn't like going down the stairs to the basement because she once saw a spider the size of a tennis ball), I do the dishes and clean the bathrooms. Have been doing such for a long long time. I need a new apron come to think of it.......

Yes!

Tonight is game night in this house - the boy's football game. I had to get up extra early to get my gym time, I had to rush home from work and cook dinner so everyone could eat well. Clean that mess up. Do some other chores. All to get to the game (here in just a bit).

The Ogre had to change clothes.

He does do the laundry and the spider killing. If he only knew what a turn on it would be if cooked the dinner occasionally. I'd make him a very happy man. I vote for equality!

...why do we need a day of celebration of women's equality???...I am totally serious when asking, anyone with a half a brain should know they have always been equal, just not always given the opportunity to show their "equalness' and in many cases-their superiority...
Because of the Neanderthals out there. And there are many.

...I get that, but we aren't all knuckle-draggers....some of us even like to play with your hair, rather than drag you around by it...
Sweets, I'd *never* place you in that category! I know not all men are helpless or sexist or misogynists. :)
My father is a fiend with a vacuum cleaner and can follow a recipe to perfection - and he's a nice guy, too! I'd put him up against any OCD cleaning freak any day of the week.

...I can be helpless on a lot of things, but I do laundry, sweep, vacum, wash dishes and I'm a monster with a dust rag...

From my neighbor and spiritual state brother, cheers from Wyoming! Where women had suffrage in the territory by 1969.

When Wyoming was seeking approval for statehood, women suffrage was a stumbling block for the anti-suffrage U.S. Congress, who asked Wyoming to rescind it, and Wyoming told them to stuff it, and became a state anyway in 1890. Then Wyoming had the nation's first woman governor, in 1924, a mere four years after the rest of the nation got caught up and had passed the 19th Amendment.
