Just a quick enquiry to any fellow collectors out there...

I have always been of the understanding that Dark Tower 1-4 were only released in the UK as paperbacks and it was the final 3 and then eventually Keyhole that were released as hardback editions.

I have just bought a Hardback UK First Edition of Wizard and Glass, published by Hodder & Stoughton from eBay.

This is confusing me somewhat!!
After some Googling, I can only find two other copies that I can get shipped in from Australia. There seems to be very little info regarding the HB edition of this book at all (that I can find) on the net, though I may just be looking in the wrong places.

Just thought I would ask on here, if no-one knows I might try emailing Hodder & Stoughton directly for any information they could provide.

Thanks in advance :)

My recollection is that they did do hardcovers but I'll see what I can find out from Stephen's editor at Hodder. Anyone else who has info, feel free to weigh in in the meantime.

Thank you :)
I can find Limited Edition copies that were signed by Stephen King himself, but those were limited to 500 copies and were in a sliptray with no dustjacket (from what I have googled). The one I have bought, however is a "normal" hardback version with dust jacket etc.

I appreciate any info though!

I was randomly looking at First Editions on eBay and saw the listing, it was one of those "it must be fake....they didn't release it on HB....did they??...I'm sure they didn't..." etc etc kind of moments :p

The H&S hardcover of Wizard & Glass was only released in Australia. The UK had to settle for a paperback with "French Wings".

H&S later released a signed/limited edition which had a signed bookplate. This was a red leather book with a black slipcase.

That makes sense from what's googled too. Thanks for the info :)
