Has the SKMB made you appreciate King's stories more...or less? If being here on the SKMB has made you appreciate King's stories more, then how did that happen? Or maybe spending time here has made you think less of King's stories? Or maybe being here as a member has had no influence at all on your view of Stephen King stories? I don't believe there are any "right" or "wrong" answers.

What are some of the insights into his stories, if any, you have gained while here as an SKMB member?

I'm not thinking of too many insights I've gotten, that doesn't mean there hasn't been lots, just that I can't think of them. I was reading Stephen King long before posting here, after all. One thing the community here reminds me of is the humanity in King's work. It's easy to see horror as evil, but these stories are relatable. It doesn't take a monster to be moved by King's writing. In fact, it seems when you get a bunch of Stephen King fans in one place, it's a pretty nice bunch of people.

Yes, Sai Walter.

Insights on the DT series alone.. It took me soo long to finally read it.

And I will never speak the same way again... It if will please ya.

And all of the connections. I would have missed so much if not for the Ka-Tet here.

.
Never realized I could care about a bunch of random people and feel as connected by Ka, Keff, and the silvery strands of energy to you guys. Long days and pleasant nights.

For me at least, reading fiction has always been something that definitely influences me, but probably at a sub-conscious level, almost as if by osmosis. Being a member here has had benefits, and some less than sterling results, though those have been all to do with my short-comings.

What stories?

Heh! When I was making the thread...or shortly after posting it...I realized that by limiting the question to stories I was neglecting the other forms of entertainment from King. Course, nobody...I don't think...said anything about things other than stories. And I wouldn't call it helping as much as echoing what I thought were good questions. I believe Brianne received the requested amount of information. What were some of the other questions?

I don't think being here somehow influenced my appreciation of SK stories... It makes me happy I can discuss them with people who understand me, that's true. And really proud of being Stephen King's fan, too. But I appreciated them before, and will continue to appreciate.

I got some more insight in the Desperation/Regulators mystery when someone here kindly gave me a link to an interwiew king did on the subject. Hadn't seen that one before so it was interesting. Then the opinions here on several books that never really hit the mark for me made me reread these King books and i found OK they were quite good. Guess i was in a bad mood or something when i read them the first time. Also all the interesting tips on books worth to bury yourself in. I thought a lot of King Before and has been reading him since the late late 70-ties but i think i think more of the stories i did not appreciate as much as some others because of SKMB.
