Never had the opportunity. Had cousins, years ago, who lived four hours south of us and they went "to the Y!" Closest thing we had was an old railroad tie dug into the stampsands out on Torch lake...run up the tie and dive into the lake where pike with cancerous growths on their sides cruised the shallows of the sands. They looked like nuclear-powered submarines, funny, how the water was so clear there in the shallows.

And years ago but years after my cuzzes went "to the Y!"...me, down there in San Diego, and there was a YMCA downtown. I looked on-line earlier, see if I could find a pic of what I remembered...but there's some sort of big honkin' glass building on one side that I don't recall. Don't recall that YMCA looking like the one in the pic, either. Young man! And this was late 70s and the Village People's song was popular but I was clueless. Never went to that Y, either. Had other things to do if we weren't out at sea. Other young men didn't interest me once in port. I saw enough shaggy arse underway. So, I dunno...maybe I should regret not checking out that YMCA. Looked like a 7-story hotel...or dormitory... Just up the street from the U.S. Grant Hotel...or Tomb...maybe it was a Tomb? Clueless, like I said.
