Hi everyone, I don't know if this will create a discussion but I have to say that after loving many of SK's books, I am sadly disappointed in Revival. My daughter purchased as a Christmas gift for me to add to my library of SK works. She asked how I liked it and I was honest that it wasn't his best. I think she was more hurt that she bought me something I didn't enjoy but assured her it was a good read, just not "Classic King". I honestly kept seeing a made-for-TV-movie in my head and (except for editing some crude language/sex) it could be shown during the children's hour. Anyone else feel like after a pretty good "story" the climax just hung there, coming up short on suspense/horror?

Welcome to the Board!

Now that you've made your initial Newbie post, you can post in the other discussions about Revival in this thread. All messages will be moderated until you've reached a post count of 100, but that really doesn't take as long as you might think if you look around the Board and find other topics to join in. :smile2:

...nope, I found it to be more reminiscent of his early work....

It was not my favorite. Welcome to the site.
Thanks for responding! Kind of fun chatting and seeing what others think on a loved subject! I kept waiting for Pastor Dan to evolve into a terrifying character physically, not mentally if that makes any sense. At first he reminded me of the priest in Silver Bullet, trusting but eerie then when the kids see him with the eye patch they just know! Salem's Lot is still my all time favorite for a scare though...especially in the scene where the vampire boy is hovering outside he's friends window to let him in, my skin prickled just imagining his nails scratching on the glass! What's your favorite to date?
