Greetings all. My name is Bud and and I am from... uh... where am I from? Grew up in NJ, but lived longer in MI than I did in NJ, then moved to CO (where my staff is now), but am writing to you from Grand Rapids, MI, where I am residing for several months whilst involved in a theatre project.

But this is an online message forum, so who really cares where I am?

MY QUESTION: I am reading Mr. King's "On Writing" and came across the writing assignment on pg. 170, asking us to do a 5-6 page "fossil dig" based on the characters and situation that Mr. King gave us. Amused by the idea, I put the book down and went to the grocery store.

And wouldn'tchaknowit: wandering up and down the aisles, the fossil appeared in the dirt, just like he said it might.

So now, all of these 14 years after publication, I am wondering: is he still accepting the completed musings of this assignment? Or has that literary opportunity completely sailed away?

Thanks for any insights you may have. My respect for Mr. King's works grows every day.

Bud
