Hello to all. I am a veterinarian, writer, and recovering university professor (which does a number on your writing style, but I have recovered from that too). Raised on Russian and English classics, my own style has been called "literary," i.e. very bad for business. And yet I am proud of it, and proud to include my favourite writer's work under the same lofty title. Mr King is capable of the most exquisite beauty of language that pierces a reader to the soul, and for all his fantastical elements he never lies about people and their motives. For this I am happy to overlook the physical impossibility of an old man with arthritic hands capturing a tomcat by a non-existent scruff ;-)

Welcome to the site Dr.V. :)

Just letting you know that I have removed the blog address from your post, (also the link wasn't actually working) but if you would like to share a blog or other work with us you're welcome to as long as you link to it only and post it into our Self Promotion area of the MB. :)
Thank you, FlakeNoir! (Black snow? Where??) May I say that you are exceptionally articulate for an 11 year-old :cool2:

Neesy, I am a fan of the entire phenomenon that is Stephen King ;-)
That puggy is awfully goshdarn cute. He/she might want a little breather, though :fox:
He is my alter ego perhaps - as a medical transcriptionist I have to sit still at work, typing, for hours at a time. I realize now why I like that pug - he never stops!

Welcome to what I assume is a fellow Canadian??? (there are a few on here but not that many)

Thank you! Yes, I am Canadian. And hope really is the best thing. What a talent it takes to say something so dangerously close to a cliche and have it sound true and inspiring.

Say hello to the pug for me. I don't usually talk to imaginary animals, but this seems like a safe place - despite the Andy Dufresne connotation. Or is that a friendly warning? :O_O:
