My name is Lady Roswell and have been a fan since back in the 70's. I have not joined a forum also since back in the beginning of 2000. Not even sure how to do this as I can barely seem to manage Facebook. My kids make fun of me all the time about it. The King has been a part of my life since I first read and saw Salem's Lot. After that I could not wait to read the Shining. Not sure how I am doing at this and a lot of help seems to be required for me anyway. I am glad to meet all or any of you that does not mind helping the well I will say it "The Elderly" that just loves the King and all he has meant to me.

Thank you so much. I have not done any sort of chatting for a very very long time. I know I would like to though and I do love Stephen King and like I said I have been a fan since in the 70's I am sure that will give away a bit of an age there. I like that you are a pretty good bunch of folken here. Nice to meet all of you.

You and I are probably around the same age- give or take. I was glued to the telly when 'Salem's Lot first aired, way back in the late 70's. I was mesmerized and terrified! I will never get the sound of that kid's nails tapping on the window! Ever! I didn't become a true King fan until the early 80's tho. I do remember reading Night Shift in paperback (when it had the blue cover with the eyes staring thru) and thinking that 'This guy is amazing! How can he write in so many different styles and be so freaking scary doing it!' My very first hardback purchase of a King book was The Talisman, which I absolutely love(d)! I haven't looked back since.

I remember when I watched Salem's Lot it truly scared me. I do remember thinking I wanted to cover my eyes but could not. As for when I read the Shining I was living in a very old house that creaked constantly and a cat that used to sneak around. I could not put that book down even though I had to. I read it while listening to a record album by ELO that just added to the terror of the writing. It is truly amazing how music can really add to the suspense. Now if I happen to hear one of those songs it brings the book and story right back to me. I am 61 by the way
