Hello,

I read my first Stephen King book - The Talisman - while I was a young man in the Belgian army.
In those days you had to go for one year of sevice when you turned 18. I hated every minute of it.
One day a sergeant came up to me with a box full of new books and asked me if I wanted to buy any. Don't ask me where he got them, he was Always doing shady deals like that.
I bought The Talisman, Carrie, and a few others, I think it was Cujo and Christine.

Those Books helped me get past the difficult times when i was far away from home and I've been reading his books for about 28 years now.

Stephen King and Peter Straub books are the only ones I buy new. I get my other books in the library. The only book that dissapointed me was Under the Dome, but that was because I accidentally bought the French translation at the airport :)

Welcome aboard! I knew a guy from Belgium, Mike by name...he came to the States to go to school, but at one point I remember he had to return to Belgium to do his service.

Hi, I'm from Belgium too !

My father did that military service too... I liked "Under the dome" but the translation is horrible, I agree :O
I don't know why I'm speaking to you in English but it happens sometimes that I speak English with my best friend (who speaks French too), I think it's fun !

Welcome ! :)
