Hello everybody,

first of all, excuse my English. I'm german and not a native speaker.
I have already read a lot of threads here and registered yesterday.
I'm not only new to this forum, but also new to SK books.
I have watched a lot of movies, some good some bad. But the good ones always thrilled me.
This summer there was a two hrs. documentation about Stephen King on TV and I casually said to my wife, that it seems, that I have to read a SK book eventually.
On the next day I had forgotten about it.
But my wife didn't and I got Mr Mercedes from her as my birthday gift some weeks ago.

I have finished it around one week ago and what can I say ? I was absolutely excited.
I do not know, if I would like the supernatural style of Stephen in other stories, but this crime novel style is the best I have read during the last years.

Therefore my first question; What should I read next, if I like this style ? 'Joyland' perhaps ? What would you recommend ?

This was my brief introduction. I look very much forward to discussions and informatons on this site.
BTW; I'm a 52 years old german engineer living in the Southwest of Germany near the Mercedes factory :0: But this - repeated mentioning of 'german engineering' - was not the reason, why I liked this book so much ;-D

Best Regards

Martin

Howdy. Wie geht es ihnen?...or Vie geht's? Can't remember which one is for someone you just met. Either way, welcome to the board sir. Joyland is an excellent choice. Quite a bit different from Mr. Mercedes but just as good.

Cervus. (Ja, ja; ich weiß daß du in Baden-Württemberg bist, aber bayrisch kommt viel einfacher für mich.)
*translation: [southern German] howdy. Yeah, I know you're in Baden-W., but Bavarian comes a lot more easily to me.

There are lots of interesting people here - it's really gemütlich. :)
