Lisey's Story
(heartbreaking into-the-black; brave, brave Lisey)
Apt Pupil
(somewhere in Randomville, USA, there's a Todd Bowden evolving - and we all know it)
Storm of the Century
(so Faustian and horrible) (okay, not a book, but you get my drift)
Pet Sematary
(everyone dies in that book - and comes back with green-black ick on them)
Dolores Claiborne
(Get on the Abuse Bus for a wild ride in the whereabouts of Little Tall Island)

'Different Seasons' because it's so dark and raw.... and utterly human. Sometimes we don't need to invent monsters and horror, because, we....as humans, already have these things within us.

and just for the record, i sobbed reading The Breathing Method. It's the most beautiful, haunted... most perfect thing i've ever read.

It's my favorite in Different Seasons. So sad, beautifully written, with just the right amount of creepiness that a story "told" close to Christmas should have.

jesus.... we ARE related. LOL!

i was born at midnight on winter solstice (December 21st).... it's the perfect story for that time of year.
:heheh:
