It's been a while, but I'm trying to get caught up around here. I was so excited, waiting for the boards to open on Monday, and then my week went by like juice through a kid on a roadtrip, and here it is already Friday! I'm glad the boards are still open, in the olden days I'd have had to wait again.

I still have fibromyalgia and migraines. They suck, but they're not going to kill me, so we've figured out ways to get along.

I have been volunteering at a suicide hotline. It's run as a chat, typing back and forth, and I do it from home. It's been a really good thing for me, being able to be there when people reach out.

How is everything here?

....Tom whitewashed a fence with help from a dead cat he was stringing along....Huck is running guided raft trips on the Mississippi....and Ole Yeller is still dead....

Dey you is! Welcome back, hipmama...this place is still here, hasn't burned down. We took away the matches from Muskrat. GNT and danie are on probation from speeding in the Ka Tet, and Spidey has been keeping the sign in the window, lol. Everyone else is in therapy. ;)

I commend you on your volunteer work. My family has been marked by suicide three times. You are saving lives.

So, life has been full of boyhood adventures, and banned in libraries from time to time? ;;D Old Yeller made me cry and cry when I was a kid, then I saw it as an adult and cried, then read the book and cried. I'm a big cry baby! Give Aunt Tracy a big hug for me?

Good to be back! I hope it's good. We don't find out usually how things go afterwards, but a lot of times you know just from now the conversation is going that they're in a better headspace.

Yes, Baby Bonecrusher is even huger (is that a word?) now.

Torleif turns 5 in August. He's all set to go to kindergarten in the fall. It starts 2 days after his birthday (on my birthday, wah my baby is growing up!)

He knows all his letters and numbers, and is reading books with words that are mostly phonetic. None of the other kids were interested in any of that at this age, so it's been a real trip.

Doc, I am sorry to hear that. Suicide of a loved one is a special kind of grief, and having it happen that many times is quite a lot to carry.

I can't believe Tor is nearly 5, that's insane how quickly he's growing up!
That's so great the work you're doing with the suicide prevention hotline, good on you girl, you will be making a big difference for many, many people. xox
