Sorry everyone..I have been and AVID fan of SK's since Carrie. Mr. Mercedes is a little beneath mundane. Any other book of his I would race through and be done way before it was due at the library. I have had it almost a week and am only at page 140. He doesn't have that "grab you by the hair" and pull you into his vortex writing in this book. I wish I could say more...hope it gets better..yawn

...man alive!...has there been anything he's written lately that has brought out such negativity???...I know there have been other works people haven't cared for, but this one has been absolutely polarizing...

It actually happens with pretty much everything new he puts out there. But really, that's okay because I'm sure he's not expecting to please everyone. :)

Some seems to love it (Mr. Mercedes that is, not ”IT”). Some (including me), thinks it's not really on par with what he can he achieve when he fires on all cylinders.
...I get that, really I do...but in my old noggin-half-baked King is tastier than well-done others....and though this may not be his "best" book ever, it was one hell of a read-and one that appealed to me......

I actually didn't think it was noggin half baked. I loved the change of style and it definitely had that SK thing goin' on.
