I know it isn't but in can cause infection to come easier obviously. At least what my doctor said. I got some pills today to keep my something acid on the right level. I take so many pills already....
...all due respect to your Doc, but he's fulla swiss cow poop...it is a build-up of uric acid that causes the discomfort and Allopurinol is the most commonly used pill for treatment of the symptoms...that build-up is not compromising your immune system and making you more prone to infections my friend...

Did you ever watch Animaniacs? I loved Pinky and the Brain.
th

I did. I never liked the grumpy brain though. Maybe I would now that I am older.

To be fair to my doc i now remember he said my inflammation, not infection, meaning my swollen foot. It is just allupurinol that i was prescriped. Does that make a difference? Blame my poor grasp of medicinal vocabulary.

The uric acid is like little pieces of broken glass inside your joints. The Allopurinol eases that and helps keep if from building up. Don't mess around with that condition, it can take you out if you don't treat it properly. Like most things, drink lots of water and watch your diet. Keep on top of it and you can stay asymptomatic. Don;t and you'll not be able to walk soon and that will lead to many other issues and complications.

...nope, you are on the right stuff, and no apology needed-terminology IS confusing...and a lot of Medical folk like to bandy it about to make themselves look smart....

I didn't know you had a heart issue. I've got cardiac issues too, which run in the family.
I meant to answer this yesterday, sorry... I didn't know you did either!
(Or maybe I did, but have forgotten? It is scary how much I am not remembering these days... :O_O: I'm not ready to be old yet...)
It seems to run in my family too. My mum has the same issue and my cousin, who is 5 years younger than me, had a pacemaker put in when she was 20.

...indeed that lil bastid is....I wish you well, and please ask if there's anything I can help you with...

Thank you, Scott... xox
