Hi guys, I'm new to the site's membership and looking forward to it.

To start off, here's what I wrote yesterday about King's earlier works:

Ride the Nightmare: 1970s Stephen King
Nice work! I especially liked this very accurate observation of yours (especially since I did read all of his earlier works as they were originally released):

"I wish I could have read all of these novels as they came out in the 70s. I think the impact must have been like a fetid roar and a raking of claws to the face. I suspect it was all so fresh and ferocious back when it first appeared, especially to the general audience it so immediately reached. "

Cool, that's so good to hear from somebody who 'was there'. Thanks for reading!

..well DOJP, you don't mind if I call you DOJP do ya?....it was refreshing to read honest opinion instead of the pumped up puffery that so many "critics" and columnists make their bread with...I'll be honest-I didn't read every word, but those that I did were pretty damned good-though I take exception to the term "threadbare" as you applied it to Carrie...given it's format and "flavor", I'm not sure where you conjured up that term....I still bless Tabby for yanking it out of the circular file...
