I don`t know, I just feel like chit-chatting away for a while, and who better to talk to than SK Constant Readers?
So, what`s up? How`s the holiday madness going? Do you have time to read at least a little bit, like 15 minutes before shut-eye?
I myself have known better days. Yesterday Joe Cocker died, that is a big one for me. Really feeling the blues, but am also grateful I got to live in a day and time when he was around. Made my life richer. Always will, the man died, but the music lives on forever.
Reading Lee Child`s newest one for a while now, and I don`t know if it`s him or me, but I find it boring. I hate it when people write on a formula, and that`s just what Lee does. This time, anyway, other times he was great.
Ah well, can`t always hit the jackpot.
Re-reading Black House, too, bit by bit, no hurry. What a masterpiece!
Other than that, my kid and wife are sick "like dogs", they just went to the doctor. Had to, I don`t think they can beat this without antibiotics.
Nice f****g timing to get the flu, my heart really aches for them.
Is it snowing anywhere in the world or is this going to be a Not-So-White-Christmas?
Thanks for reading, Long Days and all that hoopla.
:)

Hi, Srbo! Nice of you to drop in!
I'm sorry that your wife, and child are sick, wrong time to be sick.
I can't read any more, and I really miss it.
No snow here, just rain. Temps in the 60's. (WTH?)
Because of my kids religion, we don't celebrate Christmas. I have asked them to give me one last Christmas before I die. I sure miss that too.
You take care, and have a nice holiday!

So far having a good holiday time. My son and I had THE COLD but are better now. SRBO, I'm reading Sarah Waters at the moment. I'm really dissapointed in this one. I've read The Nightwatch and The Little Stranger. Enjoyed them immensely. This one just feels self conscious. So feeling let down about this one. Hope everyone is feeling better. Have a good Christmas.

Sorry your family is feeling under the weather, Srbo. Hope you don't catch it! Working from home this month after left foot surgery--nothing major but can't walk on it for another couple weeks and no driving. Very lucky I have a job that I can still do at home. Christmas will be quiet this year--only my son will be around as the girls aren't able to make it back due to work commitments which wouldn't give them much time to visit. We had a get-together at Thanksgiving, though, and I'm hoping to make it to Massachusetts in January to visit with younger daughter. Sending lots of love to you and your family along with healing vibes in the hopes they'll be feeling much better by the time you celebrate Christmas (a little later than us as I recall).

Hope you family get well soon Srbo and that you manage to evade the evil germs. Working with children I have managed to catch the dreaded seasonal cold, feeling better now though, but did manage to dodge the sickness bug that whipped through the school.

Hope you manage to have a happy Christmas and everyone is feeling a little bit better, don't think it will be a white one over here though, we are more likely to get snow around Easter time.

It's good to see you Srbo! I'm sorry your family is sick. I hope you don't catch it and they get better quickly.
And I'm sorry you've been feeling down. It's hard to lose people who have been a part of our lives even though we don't know them.
I hope you have a happy holiday in spite of everything! And Merry Christmas! (except I think you celebrate that next month don't you?)

Yikes, I only know of a BRATT diet as bananas, rice, applesauce, tea, and toast, and it's what we fed the kids if they had diarrhea, so if they were constipated, it's what we stay away from.

Anyway, we have a normal, boring, happy Christmas going on. Daughter is in a new relationship, and he's a pretty good joe. Treats her well. Everyone's coming over to our place Christmas afternoon for casual dining, gift exchanging, and the now-traditional red and green Jell-O shots. I got my gift early, a new camera (!!!)(happy dance), and Grandma's getting
bath/body stuff, dressy but practical boots, and a updated redo of the sweetheart ring I got her in high school.

That's so sweet to redo her ring Grandpa! No wonder she loves you.

Thanx for the nice post Srbo. First, may your family heal up quickly. Second, I'll miss Joe Cocker, too. I kind of grew up with him. R.I.P. Third, my holiday is fine. My personal tradition is to take it easy this time of year. I gave up long ago trying to give gifts. I'm not a Scrooge, it's just that I have trouble knowing what to buy and figuring out how to afford to. I have to work Christmas Eve and Christmas day, as well as New Years Eve and day, but it's cool. I'm enjoying Christmas this year more than I have in recent years.
