This little robot hitch hiked across Canada. He attended a PowWow, a wedding, went camping. He travelled across parts of Europe.

And two weeks trekking through the US and he was damaged beyond repair.

Hitchbot was taking pictures on a regular basis. I hope he caught the criminals. His creators are supposed to speak to the press today.

Maybe the burbs are better but the neighborhoods IN the city are bad. My parents are stuck there in what used to be a good neighborhood, one of the best, but hasn't been very safe in a long time.

When he crossed Canada, people gave him gifts. Nobody stole those gifts.

I worried when I heard he was going to the US. I didn't expect him to survive.

While I find it a shame that the bot was destroyed, I found some of the comments below the article are disturbing to me. They speak of the world hating Americans.........
I can't shed tears over a robot. Hate scares me though......
