I'm not from Philly nor is anyone in my family. We actually live 2 hours outside of Philly. But in all of the times I've been into the city we've never had a bad experience. That being said we aren't walking the city streets at night.

I'm not saying there aren't many good people in Philly. There are. All of my family and many of my friends still live there.
Im not a sports fan, so I can't comment on that aspect, but I know the neighborhoods (I have lived/worked/gone to school in almost every part of the city at some point) and they have declined very much in the past decade or so. People who only go into the city for concerts and sports aren't exposed to the decay. It saddens me to put down my "hometown" but it is the truth.

It's too bad that Hitchbot didn't make it to NC.......I would have taken him to Grandfather Mountain, and to see Linville Falls, and of course, to the Viaduct......I'd also have given him a daisy bouquet, and sipped margaritas with him by the fire pit.

Not sure if this part was posted in this thread.

When the creators posted about Hitchbot being destroyed, there were people in Philly who went out and found him. They sent a picture to the creators, and are making arrangements to return the pieces.

The creators did not want the photo made public. They were concerned about the children that have been following the trips and how upsetting that picture would be to them. Unfortunately...some news outlets posted it anyway. I'm not sure how the news outlets got the picture.

I can make a tasty cheesesteak myself, but oh Lord, I miss Philly soft pretzels. Nothing else compares =D

You can't get the rolls.

Here ya go, fresh off a street guy with all the goodie exaust fumes.

If they accept help, I hope it's financial.

They should continue to have complete control and complete credit.

~~~
From the first day this had been reported, they were saying the experiment is not over. I expect they will rebuild, they will send him back to the US.
I would take him to a Cowboys game, and take him camping at the lake... , and sit on the front porch enjoying a cup of coffee...
