Haven't got to play it much yet but "Outlast" on Xbox One is very entertaining so far. No weapons, only escape and evade tactics. Very gory and a creepy plot. The no weapons aspect is kind of a interesting twist on the survival horror genre.

"Clock Tower" for the snes was definitely one of the first actually scary horror games in my opinion, you don't need modern graphics to make your game terrifying.
It's basically a point and click adventure game that follows a 16 year old girl after all her friends disappear at the estate that belongs to their new adoptive parents, throughout the game you learn more and more about the horrifying history of their new guardian.

My Hubby and roommate used to play one called Escape From Monster Manor in the late 90s. My daughter and I would watch (she was around 4 - this could explain some things) and it was pretty nerve-wracking. At least for me. :O_O:

Looks like the original "Doom" to me, there are so many clones of that game
