Wow! I've never seen a horse with markings like this before! Thanks for the pic :)
I had no idea there are such horses.
Aren't they gorgeous? I've been smitten with horses my whole life. They're such wondrous creatures, so magnificent. And they allow us to sit on them and carry us. Some, sadly, are "broken" and forced, but more and more, the relationship is mutual.

Ever seen the Horse Whisperer with Robert Redford? That's based on a real guy, Buck Branaman. A true horseman, he does clinics to teach people how to handle horses. Not to break them, but to learn to cooperate with them. He can have a wild horse tap-dancing to Jazz inside a day. The troubled horse they show him working with in this clip warms up to him in 15 minutes.

I haven't seen the movie. These horses are really wonderful.

I like the parts of the movie that deal with the characters' relationship to their horses. They threw in an obligatory romance that I fast-forward through. It adds nothing to the movie. This clip shows what a wonder he is to see working with them. I'd LOVE to see one of his clinics one day. And I don't even have a horse (yet).
It's a hope of mine to invite him to add me to his yearly schedule if and when I get my farm, and have it running. It would be his only clinic in the state, if I ever put that together.

I know. It'll never happen. But when you give up your dreams, you die. And horses are mine.
