This was a nice little Belgian entry I did a run and gun on. Quite good. Loved the characters and story. A little like The Lovely Bones only a much better concept.

And as always, the setting is like another character to me. A window into a another country and their culture.

You have to suspend your questions as this goes. You can tear it apart if you're that kind of person; or, you can just go for the ride.

Remember, this is another country. Their policing is different.

subtitled.

I particularly enjoyed the process of learning the rules of the main character's state, which was unique and innovative. I liked it a lot.
Supposedly they are thinking about doing more seasons, only with new victims. I'm not sure how that would work given that this is a small village of people. Maybe they would have a complete change of scenery and cast -- maybe link them by the two women investigators.

And me too, I really liked it. My netflix queue is full of more foreign things than American. And I hate it when someone tries to adapt a foreign show to America. For me, they never work.

That sounds really interesting (I had to google it.) Did the season have an ending? I don't have Netflix but if a DVD is released, it sounds worth buying :)
It did have an ending. Personally, I would buy it. But that's me. I like foreign made shows. If you try to hang onto your American thinking while watching them, you might not enjoy it too much. Again, the culture is different. Policing is different. But I love that window into another country and their way of life.

Thanks :) I'll look for it on amazon :) I don't think I'd be bothered much by subtitles... I have to turn captions on when I watch Doctor Who lol.

The good thing about the subtitles for me is, it makes me focus on the show. I have to watch. Most shows, I am multitasking and my attention span wanders. With the subtitles, I have no choice but to pay attention.

I tweeted with the lead actress after watching and said I'd happily see a second season. I seem to recall her responding that she'd like that, too, but couldn't see how it could work.
