Almost 1PM- 96F/ heat index 103F haven't hit the high for today/ little chance of rain.

We haven't had it too bad this summer until the last couple of weeks. It was raining practically everyday and we had a lot of cloud cover which kept the temps down but the past couple of weeks have been dry and scorching.

Shopko can't keep thermal underwear on the shelf...you go in there and you wear body armor. Little old ladies and little old men snatching thermals from your cart you're not looking.
People have been forming convoys and making the trip to the Fleet Farm down in Wisconsin...thermal-coyote runners are charging top dollar for a ride in a a/c cooled van with padded carpet on the floors for the bumps and potholes. A local and unknown representative has introduced a bill in Congress for relief. Not sure what kind...but r-e-l-i-e-f is the bottom line. Could be to do with the price of...stuff...last winter...fuel oil maybe, propane or something. Local man over in Pelki ran his thermals up the flagpole on the 4th...someone snatched it away, broad daylight...in a balloon no less though people took note of the numbers on the fabric.

When I left home it was a soaking mist, then I had to make a pit-stop on a back country road. There's nothing like a leisurely dribble while watching the eastern horizon turn a pale blue. And for the last 30 mins of my drive, it was being under a solid grey dome.

Did I give a little too much info?

Early winter forecasts are in for us......colder than usual and more snow than usual. I'm predicting a major snowfall before Halloween.....
I'm sure glad I'm getting my new heating system at the end of this month.

Today was beautiful...don't know what the temp was...it was not unbearable but warm sunny and a breeze from time to time. We haven't had any frost as yet...and though the past two winters were a misery, September last year was gorgeous...late frost if when good for the garden bad for some things...apples maybe...they can wait. And yeah, I noticed the full moon last night, Marilyn there in the sky rising the line from her chin to forehead at 6 o'clock...it's so delicious. Not much in the way of fall color though there is some and one tree across the street is in full color, a maple...but that is rear...there is a scattering of leaves against the curb. Cut the grass yesterday, have got some things from the garden, tomatoes, cukes, onions, carrots, beans yellow and green but nothing like a regular summer...we had a late spring, everything was late.

Inserts an awkward silence...so let's all go get hammered in The Awkward Silence Room.
